Emilia Qvist
Finnish Contemporary Artist
A moment of calm in a world in motion.
Emilia Qvist is a Finnish-Swedish visual artist from Sipoo, Finland, currently based in Stockholm, with a background spanning Finland, Sweden and New York. Working primarily with acrylic on canvas, she explores nature, biodiversity and emotion through vibrant colour, Nordic light and abstract forms.
Inspired by Impressionism and its contemporary interpretations, Qvist combines expressive, layered brushwork with a modern, atmospheric approach. She also works with reclaimed canvases, giving discarded materials a new life through art.
Her abstract works are loosely rooted in the natural world, leaving space for the viewer's own interpretation and inviting them to become a co-creator of the experience.
Her creative practice is shaped by a fascination with the beauty and fragility of the natural world, inviting the viewer to slow down, look closer and find their own meaning within the work.
